OSB is a building material produced by compressing long and thin chips obtained from coniferous trees in three separate layers, oriented and layered at right angles to each other.

OSBproduction consists of the following stages: p>

Raw material preparation: Raw material used in OSB production , are generally coniferous trees such as pine, spruce and fir. After the trees are cut, their bark is peeled and turned into chips. Chips are cut to specific sizes and dried.

Combining the chips: The dried chips are transferred to a pressing machine. In the press machine, the chips are compressed together with the resin and paraffin emulsion at high pressure and temperature.

Cutting and packaging of sheets: Compressed chips are turned into sheets and cut according to their sizes. The boards are packaged and offered for sale.

OSB Dimensions, Thicknesses and Weights

OSB sheets can be produced in the following dimensions:

Width: 1220 mm, 1250 mm, 1500 mm

Length: 2440 mm, 2500 mm, 3000 mm

Thickness: 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm, 25 mm

OSB boards' weights vary depending on their thickness. For example, a 12 mm thick OSB plate weighs approximately 6 kg/m².

Usage Areas of OSB
